Today marks the two year anniversary of one of the nicest MCs that ever grasped the mic passed away. Keith Elam aka Guru, of Gang Starr fame. The first CD that I ever had to re-buy was “Moment of Truth”. I wore that disc out from front to back. Whether it was “Royalty”, “The Mall”, “Moment of Truth”, whatever, it was in my CD player for a year straight. Six disc rotation? Nah, leave that shit on repeat. Guru’s a Bostonian, but made waves when he headed out to New York and linked with DJ Premier. That said, enjoy some of my favorite Gang Starr tracks. Guru, RIP.
