Heads up for those that tend to sleep in on Saturdays – if you plan to cop the newest Jordan release, the Olympic 6 Retros, you’ll need to call your people at the sneaker spot, get comfortable with a beach chair and a fully charged iPhone and get ready to camp for these.
In memory of the Olympic 6 Retro that dropped all the way back in 2000, these feature a few changes and tweaks that may be a bit off-putting to purists, but the complete package is still dope. The originally mostly white outsole is now sporting navy blue over the airbag in the heel and forefoot. It’s the little things like this that can change the make-up of a sneaker in it’s entirety.
See below for the 2000 release:
Maybe it’s just me, but the navy blue seems to hit a bit darker than the original retro. This year’s release tends to look a little more…ominous, I guess. Regardless, it’s a beautifully encapsulated sneaker – added support around the ankle with the pods, but really – who’s gonna be running full court in a pair of these?
Anyway, yes – these are out tomorrow, Saturday the 7th at select retailers (and most likely Nike.com for those with extra quick point and click capabilities. As with the majority of these retros, they’ll hit for $160. Get em!
